Mentoring

A Program of Support

Commit to a transformative 4- or 6-month mentoring program, with the flexibility to work remotely, in person, or a combination of both.

Remote Guidance:
Each month, you'll submit your work to Collect (an app). We'll assess your progress, explore your creative direction, and discuss influences. The program also includes a Google Meet catch-up, ensuring you stay on track and inspired.

Studio Visits and Critique:
For those who prefer in-person support, I offer monthly 90 or 120 minute studio or home visits, followed by a comprehensive email summary. Please note, a travel fee applies for locations outside of PE postcodes.

A Personalized, Holistic Approach

I don’t just offer guidance— I share my art-world experiences, including overcoming challenges, balancing family life, and navigating healthy habits of mind. This unique, integrative approach connects your daily life with your creative practice in a fresh and joyful way.

Investing in Your Growth

Investing in your creative growth has never been more accessible. I offer competitive rates: £500 for a 4-month program and £700 to extend to 6-months. To help you decide if this is the right fit for you, I’m happy to offer a complimentary 20-minute Zoom session. If you're near Peterborough, we can also meet in person. In addition, I offer one-off sessions (£180 for new mentees and £150 for returning ones.

Take the next step in your creative journey—let's work together to unlock your full potential.

Testimonials:

Testimonial from Kristin Rawcliffe, Artist www.kristinrawcliffe.co.uk:

'Lucy has really helped me focus and organise myself, and to realise what is important to concentrate on as I have a tendency to get sidetracked. She gave great examples of artists to look at and I feel I have made progress with a large project during our sessions. Lucy was very flexible about breaking up the sessions into smaller chunks when I was struggling and needed shorter, more frequent sessions for feedback.

I think I am getting more confident and starting to know what I need to do more clearly. A recent success is being selected for ‘Ascent of Man’ exhibition at The House of Smalls in Edinburgh... it feels good to be exhibiting in a show with meaning. I am working currently on building contacts with a view to more self-organised shows.

Things that have stayed with me from Lucy's mentoring are “write more”. I am trying to do this, I am still very slow, but it is my intention to improve! I remember Lucy saying 'just do it', however big and scary it seems, and I do try to keep to that attitude. Also, I admire very much how prolific Lucy is, and I do aspire to make more, and consistently'.

Testimonial from Angie Kenber, Artist www.angiekenber.co.uk  :
‘'Lucy has supported me in finally finding my voice as an artist.  She is always very encouraging and curious about my work. Lucy has been a witness to my development for over a year, and in that time has always widened my horizons, provided a clear structure for sessions, as well as having a seemingly endless knowledge of relevant artists to research!'

Before the online session, you'll send an email with images of your work, and we'll use our time together to address any questions or challenges you’ve brought up.

These sessions, or "surgeries," can take many forms, such as critique, advice on useful exercises, experimental methods, strategies for achieving balance around your practice, tips on exhibiting, and even ways to use creativity to support mindfulness or mental health.

Each session is relaxed, encouraging, and entirely tailored to you. The information you provide beforehand allows me to customize my feedback to your specific needs. My goal is to help you to maximise the benefits of your practice and encourage your creative journey.

You'll also receive a written summary afterward.
